Re-arranged Games

  • Rearrangement of a game will be permitted however both teams must agree that they will find another suitable date before the end of the season or if it is a knockout competition then before the next round. The team requesting the cancellation is responsible for offering the opposition an alternative date.
  • Ideally, 72 hours’ notice of a game cancellation or rearrangement should be given to the Curling department at Dewars. If 72 hours’ notice is unable to be given, then the full ice costs may be charged to the defaulting team, and it will be up to the opposing team as to whether they accept the points or rearrange the game.
  • In the event of a default the non-defaulting team will be awarded 2 points and 3 shots, and the defaulting team will lose 3 shots and will be liable for the whole ice fees.

Tied games in single team knock-out competitions.

  • In the event of a tie in a Knock-Out competition an extra end should be played provided the end of session bell has not rung.
  • Otherwise, a draw shot challenge should take place to decide the winner with ONLY one player from each team throwing a draw with sweepers, closest to the button wins.  No sweeping from opposition behind the tee line.
  •  Players throw on sheet they have played on.
